Concrete Staining & Design
Concrete staining is a permanent transformation of ordinary concrete into something that resembles “old world” stone or marble at a fraction of the cost. The concrete floor serves as our “blank canvas” we are not confined by the size of available materials. Concrete staining is not a paint or coating so it will never chip, fade of peel.
Color Injections
The technology now exists to inject color into cured gray concrete. We utilize a chemical transporter that is tinted to your specification and the color is injected into the concrete. The finished look is soft, translucent and elegant just like stained concrete. Additionally, the chemical we use increases the concrete’s stain resistance qualities. The finished product looks and feels just like the concrete we started with except it is now a different color. Techniques are available to create floors that closely resemble stained concrete.
Water Vapor Moisture Barriers
When concrete substrates have a higher than normal water vapor emission rate (MVER) we can install a state of the art barrier system with a warranty. By taking the technical approach to stopping the vapor transmission and working closely with the product manufacturer, we have successfully barriered many problematic concrete slabs.
This barrier system may have other flooring applied over it or we can install a cement coating and provide a decorative concrete floor.
Cleaning and Restoration
Florentine Floors, Inc. routinely cleanses the concrete substrate prior to staining and sealing. We apply this same expertise when cleaning a driveway, parking area, sidewalks and plazas. Once cleaned, we can apply a variety of sealers and impregnators to resist soiling and ease maintenance in the future. This investment reduces future maintenance costs and “down time.”
Seamless Fiberglass Reinforced Walls - Seamless fiberglass walls are an upgrade from the traditional Fiberglass Reinforced Panel (FRP) walls often used in kitchens, restrooms, food processing areas and other areas where sanitation is critical or in wet environments. The fiberglass coated walls are seamless. There are no joints like with FRP walls where water can leak and cause damage or mold. Typically these walls are combined with a floor coating and integrate cove base to create a seamless transition from wall to floor.
